Massage Guns vs a Traditional Massage

If you're looking to buy a massage gun then I'm sure you've thought... "Will I even need to get a traditional deep tissue massage again". Well you'd be surprised to know that massage guns such as the mussage massage gun can in-fact significantly reduce your number of visits to your favourite massage establishment. For athletes who may be getting a massage more frequently, a massage gun as almost a must have tool to help with rehab and save you money.

A recent study by Shagufta Imtiyaz, Zubia Veqar, & M.Y. Shareef analysed whether vibration therapy or a deep tissue massage is more effective in prevention of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). They discovered that both methods were very effective (vs the control group) in significantly reducing DOMS. This study also found that vibration therapy is more effective lactate dehydrogenase which is important for energy production in cells. For those who live a high intensity lifestyle, this is a very important and a significant impact.

Whilst both are very effective at reducing DOMS, you must factor in the costs of both. A deep tissue massage is generally around $100 per session. If you were to go just once a month this would add up to $1,200 per year. A massage gun is generally far less expensive than the annual cost for a massage. If you were to purchase a massage gun from mussage, the cost is less than that of just two traditional massages.

Having a massage gun available makes a lot of sense. If you're an athlete looking to push your performance to the next level or simply just wanting relieve from muscle aches and pain then it's worth the investment.
